I just finished reading Empower by John Spencer and A. J. Juliani. I'm a page bender when I read something that inspires me. Looking at the book, I'm inspired. I couldn't put it down. First of all, it was easy to read because of the creative format. Second, as a firm believer in project based, student directed learning, this book empowered me to venture down some new paths this school year. A few months ago, I read their book Launch, a book that describes just that, launching into project based learning. If you're interested in learning more, check them out. In my opinion, this is the way education should look. Oh, I met A. J. at a conference that I spoke at. He is an awesome guy, pumped with incredible energy about empowering student learning. Thanks for all your help A. J.! @ajjuliani empowerbook.co

Currently, I am trying to load files into Ingram Spark, a self publishing company. There was a problem with the words on a page, they looked cut off. Lesson #1, look over the proof multiple times. I thought everything looked good, but I missed that one. On the good side, I was able to change the about the author page. Also, I learned how to work with a PDF editor. The book that I thought would be out already, has taken me a year to finish. Frustrating, yet I did learn many new things through mistakes. I am writing two books right now and I'm not quite sure if I'll continue this route of publishing or maybe submit to publishers.
I tried keeping up with a blog once before, but it was really hard to keep it going. So many people asked me to start writing again. Actually, I never thought people out there wanted to hear my random ideas. This blog will probably not resemble any order, but the things that occupy my thoughts. Sometimes you might think, good thought, while other times you may think, what does this have to do with anything. I'm not going to worry about grammar stuff, that stresses me enough while writing books. Feel free to contact me with questions, ideas, etc.
Have a super, awesome day! |
